Anxious Parents Wait as Bac II Students Finish First Exam Session

PHNOM PENH — Parents gathered outside the examination center at the Royal University of Law and Economics (RULE) on Monday, waiting anxiously for their children to emerge after the morning session of Cambodia’s High School Diploma Examination, known as the Bac II.

At RULE, the first session ended without major disruptions, with students leaving the examination rooms and sharing their initial impressions of the test.

Several students said the morning session went smoothly and expressed hope that they would perform well in the afternoon session and on the examination’s final day Tuesday.

A total of 151,238 candidates registered for this year’s examination, according to official data. Of them, 37,445 students, or about 25 percent, are taking the Science track, while 113,793, or about 75 percent, are taking the Social Science track. The candidates include 47 students with hearing and speech impairments.
