Deep-Sea Port Welcomes Bahamas Cruise Ship

PHNOM PENH – Sihanoukville Autonomous Port has welcomed more than 200 passengers from the Bahamas-registered Odyssey cruise ship.

Port officials said the ship of over 195 meters in length and 22.5 meters in width arrived on Sept. 25 from Vietnam and will remain at Preah Sihanouk province for five days.

The ship carries 166 crew, of which 17 are females, with 20 nationalities. A total of 236 passengers will be visiting the province.

The passengers are of 17 nationalities, including Americans, Australians and Canadian, officials said.

Migration officers at the port said the reason for docking was for the passengers to visit and engage in cultural and traditional activities in the province, including visiting beaches and the famous statue of Preah Thong Neang Neak.

The passengers were helped with passport checking and information filling procedures, the Information Ministry added.

The vessel’s next stop is in Thailand.
