Hun Manet Holds Talks With Kem Sokha’s Daughter Kem Monovithya

PHNOM PENH–Prime Minister Hun Manet says he has held talks with Kem Monovithya, the eldest daughter of former opposition leader Kem Sokha.
“As a new generation of politicians, we all have certain tasks to cooperate and work together for the sake of the interests of our nation, especially on the international stage,” Hun Manet wrote.

Monovithya, a prominent opposition figure, previously served as deputy director-general of public affairs for the now-dissolved Cambodia National Rescue Party (CNRP).
The meeting came a few months after Kem Sokha received a royal pardon in May that removed his 27-year treason sentence. His five-year overseas travel ban was later lifted, although political restrictions stemming from his conviction remained in place.
