October 20, 2025 — Senate President Samdech Techo Hun Sen posted to social media to call on KO1 and his group to stop inappropriate actions of burning Thai goods as seen in a video. Samdech Techo instead encouraged to join in strengthening the values of morality, ethics, virtue, and the dignity of the nation despite challenging times.
Samdech Techo wrote that he just watched a video lasting more than 8 minutes of the group led by Mr. KO1 showing the campaign to boycott Thai goods by burning.
Samdech Techo expressed disappointment at such inappropriate behavior, “Burning Thai goods and threatening Thai goods sellers who still have leftover stock to sell is an act that goes beyond patriotism in an extreme form.”
Samdech Techo said that many Cambodian people have already participated in the campaign to boycott Thai goods, almost 99%, whether they are inside the country or abroad.
Samdech Techo suggested another proper alternative for excess Thai goods rather than destroying or wasting them, “The question remains for the traders who still have Thai goods left: where should they take them? ….these leftover goods can be used as animal feed rather than rather than burning or destroying them.”
Samdech Techo Hun Sen has consistently been calling on all Cambodians not to resort into inappropriate or inhumane actions against Thai and show the true essence of Khmer patriotism in peaceful and ethical ways.
