Phnom Penh, December 17, 2025 – Thai forces this morning deployed additional F-16 fighter jets, along with bombing drones and heavy artillery, to carry out attacks against Cambodia, according to H.E. Lt. Gen. Maly Socheata, Spokeswoman of the Ministry of National Defence.
Speaking at a press briefing this morning, H.E. Lt. Gen. Maly Socheata said that Thai F-16 fighter jets bombarded the area of Chouk Chey village, O’Beichoan commune, O’Chrov district, Banteay Meanchey province, at 6:25 a.m. on Dec. 17, marking the 11th day of Thailand’s illegal military aggression against Cambodia.
Moreover, she added, Thai infantry units supported by tanks attempted to infiltrate Chouk Chey and Prey Chan villages and fired toxic gas into Prey Chan village.
At the same time, Thai forces also shelled and bombarded several battlefields in Cambodia’s Military Region 4.
Regarding the large-scale aggression, Cambodia has informed the United Nations Security Council that Thai airstrikes constitute a clear act of aggression.
Thai airstrikes penetrating deep into Cambodian territory amount to outright aggression—not self-defence—and international silence risks turning unlawful use of force into an accepted norm, Cambodia’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, H.E. Keo Chhea, warned the Security Council.
Since the renewed attacks on Dec. 7, Thai forces have repeatedly used F-16 fighter jets to bomb Cambodian territory, causing extensive damage to civilian infrastructure, including houses, schools, office buildings, pagodas, sacred sites, ancient temples, roads, and bridges.
