About 90 percent of three specific batches of Babybio Optima 1 milk have been returned after they were found to contain harmful toxins, with the government ordering their withdrawal from the Cambodian market to protect the lives of infants and children.
Authorities have sent a stark warning to parents and traders to immediately stop the use and sale of Babybio Optima 1 powdered milk after reports of toxic contamination, with three types of the milk powder being blacklisted and about 90 percent of .
On January 26, 2026, the Director of the Consumer Protection and Competition and Fraud Repression Directorate-General (CCF) of the Ministry of Commerce announced that Comptoir Perfect Pharmed Co., Ltd, which has the exclusive rights to sell and distribute Babybio products in Cambodia, has notified authorities that three types of Babybio Optima 1 milk powder may be contaminated with the toxin cereulide.
According to the statement, CCF has blacklisted three specific Babybio Optima 1 milk products imported from France. The banned items include the 800g (Lot Nos: 894408 and 900035) and the 400g (Lot No: 900932).
“All traders and businesspersons doing business in these milk powders must stop selling, distributing and temporarily storing them. More importantly, they must cooperate with CCF to implement procedures for the withdrawal and return of the above three types of products,” CCF said.
“Meanwhile, for parents and consumers, please avoid purchasing the above three types of milk powder products, and also stop using them immediately or return these products to the company.”

According to Babybio Cambodia Official’s Facebook poston January 26, currently, there have been no reports of any health effects. It added that to ensure consumer safety and customer confidence, it is calling on all customers who have purchased Babybio Optima 1 products with recalled lot numbers to immediately stop using them.
“We will exchange it with another lot number of Babybio Optima 1 products for customers,” it said.
In a follow-up post on January 27, the company added, “Under the cooperation with the government officials, as of January 27, the company has collected about 90 percent of stock from the market and is in the process of completing the collection.”
The formula milk powder has been recalled as a precaution due to the possible presence of cereulide, which is produced during the manufacturing of arachidonic acid, an ingredient that is almost always present in infant formula milk.
