PHNOM PENH – Defense Minister Tea Seiha said the United States would actively monitor the situation to help ensure the successful and effective implementation of the ceasefire, confirming that Washington would provide logistical and technical support for the ASEAN monitoring team.
Seiha made the remarks following his meeting with Admiral Samuel Paparo, Commander of the United States Indo-Pacific Command (USINDOPACOM), and U.S. Ambassador to Malaysia Edgard Kagan in Malaysia on August 6.
He added that both senior U.S. officials reiterated the country’s ongoing commitment through assistance in military planning, equipment, deployment systems, space-based and aerial surveillance systems, and other advanced technologies.
“These contributions reflect the U.S. readiness to support a genuine, lasting peace,” Seiha said.
